Beatrix Potter's Hill Top house - behind the scenes

This is a video project showing a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes at Beatrix Potter's beloved Hill Top House in Cumbria. The conservation work is paramount in keeping Beatrix Potter's artefacts in the best condition. The closed season is only short and so much work must be undertaken to examine, log, clean and pack everything away for the winter. This project was undertaken with the very kind help of the staff and volunteers of the National Trust.

Beatrix Potter's Hill Top House - Putting the house to bed
Beatrix Potter's house at Near Sawrey, in the Lake District is open to the public most of the year. When it closes it's doors for a few months at the end of the season the staff and volunteers busily inspect, clean and record her objects in preparation of putting the house to bed for the closed season.

This is a rare insight by Cumbria's Photography by ward as to what happens during this period.
