I worked with Bauer Media on their Landscape Magazine to produce a series of images for an article on The Great North Pie Co. The artisans pie makers have a string of awards for their pies and the article will highlight the company and it's amazing pies. My commission was to support this with a series of documentary style images of one of their shops in Ambleside (The English Lake District). I wanted to blend in and not disrupt customers during this shoot so I shot mostly hand-held and without flash. I needed to work fast as they were very busy and didn't have the time for posed shots. I think that this worked though. It's lent a reality to the images. There's also an honesty about the results supported by the absence of a manicured approach.
