Casey Allum is a wildlife artist originally from Cumbria, known for her sensitive and detailed drawings of the natural world.
I had the pleasure of working with Casey on a commercial commission in collaboration with Derwent Pencils, where she created a series of beautiful artworks while I photographed the products over the course of a week.
Alongside the commissioned work, I invited Casey to take part in a small personal project. The aim was to create a stop-motion time-lapse capturing the quiet focus of her drawing process, paired with her own narration; a brief reflection on her background and her connection to art. The result offers an intimate glimpse into both the making of the work and the artist behind it.
